Jeru the Damaja
Brooklyn-born Jeru spent his early years in the borough’s East New York neighborhood, where he began rhyming at block parties as a youth. He first showcased his hardcore Brooklyn style to audiences on ‘I’m the Man’ a track from Gang Starr’s 1992 album Daily Operation.

The following year he released the classic DJ Premier-produced hit single, Come Clean’. His first album, ‘The Sun Rises in the East’, was released in 1994 – an essential hip hop addition to anyone’s music collection. In ’96 his second, highly acclaimed album, Wrath of the Math spawned the hits ‘Ya Playin’ Yaself’, ‘One Day’, ‘Me or the Papes’ and ‘The Bullshit’.

The man is still hard at work. His most recent album ‘The Hammer’ came out last year and features co-labs with such heavyweights as Large Professor and The Beatnuts.

You can’t stop the Prophet!!
